1. The Military
I feel like the military provides many citizens with jobs and opportunities that they otherwise would not have been presented. Through the years the military has become increasingly more popular and is now offering money for college and housing. I think that the G.I bill is a great way for young adults to get college paid for while working. The G.I bill pays for 100% of your college tuition while you are enlisted in the service. Because the military is presenting so many opportunities for people to succeed, not just sending them to war, I feel like more people should take advantage of the options presented.



2. Teen Pregnancy and STD's
The teen pregnancy rate has been increasing rapidly over the past few years. Along with the increase in teen pregnancy, there has also been an increase in teens with STD's. I feel like the media has had a huge influence in our culture which, in turn, is causing many of the problems we are faced with. Our society has the mindset that "sex sells". This motto is influencing our youth to give in to peer pressure and take part in activities that they may not be willing to accept the consequences for. I believe that if we sensor the Internet, TV, and music more than we have, we will see dramatic results in the teen pregnancy and STD rates.



3. Going Green
I think that going green is a great idea because it will help benefit the lives of generations to come. If everyone does their part to help save the environment, we can reverse the damage that has been carelessly done to the Earth.

4.Abortion
I feel like every woman should have the choice to abort a pregnancy, weather planned or unplanned, although I personally think abortion is wrong. I think that in the right cases abortion can be a good idea but I do not feel like abortion should be used as another form of "birth control".

compare/contrast

Well I was thinking, if I could compare myself to anyone it would have to be Liz Lee. Liz is the main character of My Life as Liz on MTV. I think I am a lot like her because we dress alike, we have the same opinions on life and people around us, and we also share a similar social status in highschool.

The main reason i feel like we are the same is because we both dress similar. Liz combines punk rock, nerdy, and more fashonable clothes together to make her unique style. Although I dont have the exact clothing she wears, I feel like we both have unique sences of style.

Not only do Liz and I dress alike, we have the same type of sociakl status and friends. Liz is somewhat popular in her close group of friends but isnt very well known outside of the group. I feel like I am the same in my school because I have a small group of friends that I get along with well where as most of the other students are just aquaintances. It also seems like Liz is more shy and cares more about what people think than I do.
